"Photography"
When I say I do photography, It's not the type of photography you would usually think of: Beautiful pictures, Filters that bring out the best in every picture. No, I just like to take pictures, and some do usually come out beautiful but I like to capture the humorous side of a lot of things or people. I love to take funny pictures of my dogs and my friends, and sometimes I like to take pictures of the sky too. So here is a mixed collage of some of my favorite pictures:
Arts & Crafts
I used to do a lot of arts and crafts, and sometimes I do, but not as much as I used to. I used to do a lot of painting, drawing, and more. I also used to do something called paper quilling, where you take paper strips and use a tool to curl them up into different shapes and create art through those different shapes put together. I think because of a lot of the artsy things I've done through the years I've expanded my imagination and I've inspired the younger generation (my siblings) to be just as creative.
Reading
I don't read as much as I used to, but I find a lot of entertainment in certain books. I am really into sci-fi and fantasy, and right now I am reading a book called Recursion by Blake Crouch. To give you an idea about the type of sci-fi I enjoy, this book is about A man whose daughter was killed in a hit and run and his marriage crumbled, and he hit rock bottom working as part of the police force and a woman who had great ideas in her head, specifically a chair that you could program old memories into to relive that memory through all five senses. Once the chair is created they figure out that reliving the memory while stopping their heart sends them back in time to that memory. I have read books by this same author, and I love how he explores concepts that are pretty difficult to understand. He wrote another book called Dark Matter, which explores the concept of "for every decision that you can make, there is an infinite amount of alternate universes in which all possible choices are made". I am trying to get back into reading more because It really does pull you in and calm you down.
STEM Club
I was also a part of the STEM Club in 10th and 11th grade. My 10th-grade year was in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and so we did many little crafts - I made a miniature trebuchet, A floating disc made out of a CD and a balloon, to name a couple. In my 11th grade year, we worked on a robot and although we never really finished them or got to compete with them, I loved to be able to build something like A robot - I loved legos when I was a kid and I still do. Building things is so much fun.
